About Us

Heritage Builders founder, and life-long Harrisburg builder, Glenn Livelsberger spent many years carefully educating his sons, Tegan and Tate, on the finer points of what it takes to construct projects of the highest quality. This was all in-an effort to guarantee the continuation of over 50 years of wisdom, understanding and knowledge necessary to maintain a high personal standard of quality before entering into a well-deserved retirement.

Heritage Builders of Central Pennsylvania, is a family owned and operated company established in 1970. We specialize in building luxury custom homes, and priding ourselves in our ability to handle detailed and complex projects. Tegan Livelsberger

Tegan began his love of building at an early age. He started working summers for Heritage Builders in high school and continued that through his college career at Penn State University while obtaining his bachelors degree in Business Management. After college, he came to work full time as a carpenter and later a job foreman before moving into an office position to learn the needed skills to run the family business.

With many years of valuable experience under his belt, Tegan is co-owner of the company with his brother and eager for the challenges ahead.

Tate Livelsberger

Tate, like his older brother, started working summers for Heritage Builders in high school and continued that through his own college career at Penn State University while obtaining his bachelors degree in Business Management. His father Glenn, felt that it was of the utmost importance to learn this industry from the bottom up. Understanding each task that is performed on a job-site would help to become a better owner. So, he followed the path of becoming a carpenter, and later a job foreman before taking an office position.

Tate is currently co-owner of the company with his brother Tegan and excited about the future.

A History Lesson

Glenn Livelsberger Heritage Builders
Glenn Livelsberger
Glenn Livelsberger was a shop teacher at Lower Paxton Junior High School in the late 1960s. During the summers off, he decided to round up some of his fellow teachers and build a few houses each summer. He developed a passion for building. When the school closed he decided to make home building his full time occupation.

He founded Glenn D. Livelsberger, Inc. T/A Heritage Builders in 1970. His vision was to be the premier luxury-custom home builder in the area. To achieve this he knew he had to pay attention to details and not cut any corners. He surrounded himself with only the most skilled craftsman, several of which are still working for Heritage Builders today. As the years went by, his reputation for quality grew and the name Heritage Builders became synonymous with the highest-quality homes.

He has laid the foundation for his sons Tegan and Tate and taught them the importance of trust and the value of quality.  Glenn retired in 2012, entrusting the company he built to his sons with all the confidence Heritage Builder’s reputation is in safe hands.

He is still involved as a consultant, as his passion for building is a strong as ever.

"Every project we undertake is important to our customers. I've always been acutely aware of that. It's why we are there from the very beginning of the job, until the very end. And I've instilled that ethic in my sons."
